From painting, to drawing to printmaking, there’s a little something for everyone in this seasonal selection.
Learn the Art of Botanical painting in this spring inspired watercolour wreath workshop suitable for absolute beginners. Ellie will show you how to ‘draw with the brush’ to create the soft shapes of Spring foliage and flowers using just a size 6 brush and a few flourishes.
For this workshop you will need: 2 sheets of A3+ 300 GSM Watercolour Paper, 1 x sheet Bockingford 250lb NOT Watercolour paper cut into a square, A size 8 synthetic watercolour brush, A size 2 Rigger brush and 5 x samples of Daniel Smith Artist Watercolour Paints to complete your project.

Learn to Art of Botanical Mono-printing in this beginner friendly workshop that shows you how to create a range of artist-quality prints using simple printmaking materials.
For this workshop you will need: A brayer, a sheet of polyprolene or plastic ink tray, a tube of black Cranfield Safewash Ink - Ellie uses black and lemon yellow in this tutorial.

Under the gentle guidance of SAS founder Ellie Green you’ll learn how to draw and paint ‘the fungus among us’ using beginner-friendly techniques. Using mushrooms foraged from the Surrey Hills, we’ll work with a dip pen and inks, watercolours and pastel pencils (for finishing touches) to bring our little mushroom studies to life in a soothing and satisfying way.
Materials used in this workshop: Dip Pen and Drawing Nib, Drawing Inks – Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Giconda White Coal Pencil & Burnt Umber Pitt Pastel, 300 GSM watercolour paper, Size 6 synthetic watercolour brush

Wild Art Projects - Back Catalogue
Our Wild Art Project themes are inspired by Nature - so you’ll find projects on capturing wildlife, the flora and fauna in the UK, delving into folklore and unearthing layers of history. Ellie’s teaching is beginner-kind and flows at a a gentle, mindful pace. Each chapter of the project is pre-recorded so you can follow along in real-time and includes extensive technical guidance and free downloadable resources. Each project has 6 chapters of learning to dive into!
Join us on a creative journey though a summer season project where you’ll learn to draw & paint flowers as well as learning what each flower represents. This project includes some core Nature Journaling techniques as well as folklore / stories associated to a range of wild flowers that grow in the Surrey Area.
Time to learn the lore of plants as we journey into the healing properties of herbs and wild flowers held in the highest regard by our ancestors. As we explore each plant's story, we'll unlock it's wisdom - untangling the threads of learning woven into folk tales, tradition and ritual. We'll flow through botanical drawing, watercolour painting and even some optional printmaking this season as we explore the shapes, colours, textures and healing properties of plants.
Join us on a journey into the sacred forest where you’ll learn how to draw and sketch trees that were held in the highest regard by our ancestors. Packed with technical tricks for drawing and painting trees, this project is also steeped in magic and folklore as we learn about the ‘spirit of trees’.
Join us on a wonder-filled adventure through the Winter months as we learn about the myth, magic and folklore of animals. Through the lens of the four elements we'll learn how to connect to the energy of a selection of wild animals, through creativity. Learn about 'the spirit of animals' using beginner-kind painting and drawing techniques.
Spread your creative wings as we enter the world of birds- from sketching eggs, nests and feathers to full paintings of our feathered friends using beginner-friendly tricks & techniques!
Join Ellie on a creative summer journey travelling to hill tops, sea-sides and rivers with a small kit of materials and a nature journal. Learn how to journal en plein air and how to capture both our close surroundings and the ‘wider view’ using simple materials
Autumn is the season of foraging and during our ‘Harvest’ project we foraged for local inspiration to fill our Sketchbooks with the ‘gifts of nature’ so abundant at this time of year! This project includes Fruits of the Hedgerow, Fruits of the trees, Fruits of the Forest (including Fungi!) and Fruits of the field!
Join Ellie for a slow and gentle Winter-inspired project where we explore the Hibernation habits of UK Wildlife - from hedgehogs & dormice, to badgers and bees and finishing the project with some beautiful Spring bulbs emerging from the Earth below…
As summer draws to the close in the UK some of our native birds are ready to take their annual break - leaving our shores and heading for warmer climes.
And just as some of our local feathered friends take their leave, we'll be using the 'arrivals' board to learn about birds who return to the UK through the Autumn season from Europe and even colder climates.
From thrushes, to geese, owls and the odd wader or two -we'll use these new arrivals as inspiration for learning how to sketch and paint a range of wild birds.
A celebration of the returning light…
The Winter Solstice is a tipping point - a moment when the sun stands still. After this point, with each sunrise, we welcome brighter mornings and longer days.
Join us on a storytelling journey this season as we use ancient folk tales from around the world to inspire our Sketchbook adventures.
Take a walk with us through cool Winter landscapes, star speckled skies and meet with wise nature spirits that will guide us on our journey from darkness to light.
Be mindful where you tread this season as we step into the land of bugs, slugs and winged ones that make our world go round.
We’ll turn our little friends into drawings & paintings, filling our sketchbooks with bug-lore and finding out more about how each little critter contributes to the balance and harmony of our ecosystem.
